1111 Douglas Drive

1111 Douglas Drive was completed for this year's Spring Home Tour. It is a five-bedroom 2-story with a 3-car garage. This home includes our standard energy efficient package, but we have also used fluorescent lighting throughout the home by using Compact Fluorescent Lights (CFLs). The home uses about 20% less energy over standard construction. We invite you to stop by during the tour.

Custom Home Lots on Douglas Drive

There are still 5 lots available in Fox Chase South that are a minimum of 84 feet wide. These are some of the largest lots available in town and are ideal for 3-car garages. The lots have no subgrade rock which can save 10's of thousands of dollars in construction cost. This makes them a great location for your custom home. Bring us your plan for a bid or let us help you to design your dream home. We can also perform an energy analysis on your plan to determine the most cost effective ways to make it more energy efficient.

New Ezell-Morgan Energy Star Home

Ezell-Morgan will begin construction on a new home in April, 2008. The home will easily be efficient enough to qualify for an Energy Star label and will use about half the energy of a standard home. It will feature a super-efficient geothermal heat pump, spray foam insulation, and many other energy saving features. Stay tuned for more information.

Energy Efficient Homes from Ezell-Morgan

Rising fuel and energy costs, global warming, and increasing dependence on foreign oil are problems that should concern everyone. When it means purchasing a smaller vehicle with less performance, many are unwilling to make the sacrifice. However, buying a new energy efficient home doesn't involve a sacrifice. With a new home, energy efficiency equates to performance in the form of a more comfortable living environment.

The real challenge is to find the most cost effective and practical ways to make homes more efficient. For this reason, Ezell-Morgan has hired an energy efficiency expert to help determine the main contributors to energy waste. By combining this information with their knowledge of construction techniques, Ezell-Morgan has tailored several cost effective methods to reduce energy usage. A test home was constructed just outside Lawrence in 2004. It was efficient enough to receive an Energy Star rating and exceeded state energy standards by nearly 40%.

Ezell-Morgan has new homes available now that incorporate the most cost effective of these methods. These new homes average a 25% savings in total energy costs as compared with standard building practice. You can view an Improvement Analysis Report that includes more detailed financial information.
